Delgado had four guns in his shopping cart and an unstable appearance on August 19, 2009, the day Cpl. Roberts stopped him.
They got into a struggle and Delgado shot Roberts with a .38 caliber gun.
Delgado, who was formerly in the Army and an ex-police officer, had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and suffered from paranoia.
Witnesses who took the stand said he thought many different people wanted to "get him", including rapper 50 Cent.

An unforgiving lady. Good; forgiveness of murderers is highly overrated.

After how many tax dollars will go towards one appeal after another, and how many years later?
This has to change.. while he lives and breathes, while he gets Free medical care, while he is fed, sleeps, and gets to associate with others.. and all on the taxpayer's dollars.. $40-50,000 per year until that final day.. when those who are against it.. bring up how it is not good to put a person to death.. give him life.. at $40-50,000 a year..
Or, 1 main trial.. within 30 days of arrest.. 1 appeal within 30 days of the judgment.. and if upheld.. within 7-14 days ..death penalty.

I agree it should be streamlined, but I can see a 2 year window to exhaust all appeals.

I would go that far (2 years) .. but it is ridiculous to have someone on death row any longer.. sitting there for years and decades ..
